HISTORY AND VISION
Through the
vision of Anella Coleman, school principal, The Preschool Collaborative
was established in collaboration with the Houston Independent School
District and YSAFE February 19, 2000, in order to maximize resources,
bridge gaps in services, and expand early education opportunities. The
Preschool Collaborative is a model focused on building and coordinating
a seamless, comprehensive system in order to improve accessibility,
affordability, and early education opportunities. The Preschool
Collaborative expands educational services to students in the south,
southeast, southwest, northeast, downtown and medical center areas.
MISSION
The mission of
the Preschool Collaborative is to equip all children with skills
necessary for success in school.
PRE-SCHOOL SATELLITE CURRICULUM
As with our
downtown site, Preschool Collaborative uses a non-traditional approach
to education. Integrated curriculum, including CLEAR, is utilized to
develop skills in language arts, math, science, technology, social
studies, personal health and safety, physical education.

MINIMUM PRESCHOOL SITE REQUIREMENTS
Ø
plan 2 or higher with TDPRS, Texas Rising Star Provider preferred
Ø
make education a priority for the center by committing to achieve the
goals and objectives of the YSAFE school improvement plan
